Rolling Health & Wellness Festival/Expo Rolls from Washington to Gainesville
April 23, 2008 - As Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta seeks to promote better health and wellness for Georgia’s youth, the not-for-profit organization has teamed up with the Tour de Georgia’s Health and Wellness Expo at each finish line including: Savannah, Augusta, Gainesville, Braselton (Road Atlanta), Dahlonega, Brasstown Bald Mountain/Towns Co. and Atlanta. All proceeds from the Tour de Georgia benefit the Aflac Cancer Center
GAINESVILLE - Wednesday, the Tour de Georgia cyclists completed Stage Three of the race from Washington to Gainesville. Children’s provided a fun environment where parents and children learned important information on healthy lifestyles and injury prevention at the Health and Wellness Expo.
"It was great being in Gainesville today with so much hometown spirit," said Seema Csukas, M.D., Ph.D., director of child health promotion, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. "Kids attending the Health & Wellness Expo tested their knowledge about safety with the Safe House and learned that part of being healthy is being safe."
The Expo also featured the Commitment Banner, prize wheel, appearances from Hope & Will and a wealth of educational materials. More fun and learning Thursday at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Ga.

Thursday in ROAD ATLANTA (April 24, 2008) - Stage Four will be underway as the Tour de Georgia cyclists race at Road Atlanta tomorrow. Children’s will be providing a fun environment where parents and children can learn important information on healthy lifestyles and injury prevention at the Health and Wellness Expo.
In addition, N2 a Cure will host a charity ride to be held during Stage 4, the Team Time Trial of the Tour de Georgia at Road Atlanta in Braselton. This ride is for cyclists of all levels who want to experience the road that will challenge even the pros.
There will also be a kids’ rodeo, the N2 Kids Rodeo, for kids who are 12 and under, which will feature a bike handling course, lap course and lots of fun activities for the family.
Also to note: Tour de Kids 5K Run/Walk presented by AT&T in Atlanta Centennial Olympic Park – Atlanta
Sunday, April 27 - 8:30 a.m.
The Tour de Kids 5K Run/Walk gives participants a unique experience along the finishing circuit of the Tour de Georgia - while giving back to the community. This 5K run/walk begins in Centennial Olympic Park on Peachtree Street then back – highlighting downtown Atlanta. Adult entries are $20.00, children $15.00 (16 and younger), family of 4 (2 adults/2 children) $55.00 and $15.00 for each additional child.
